Tongzhou Senior High School of Jiangsu Province is a national level model high school with a history of 80 years. It is situated in the prosperous Tongzhou City at the Mouth of the Changjiang River (the Yangtze), which faces Shanghai across the river and is with easy access to Hangzhou and Nanjing. So, it enjoys convenient traffic and is surrounded with deep cultural environment.
This school covers an area of 150,000 square metres with 55,000 square metres of construction area. Having an elegant and stylistic campus and equipped with advanced facilities, it is one of the first high schools of the province that have set up the school computer network with easy connection to all the world. The lawns, gardens, artificial hills, and bridges inside the school make a fantastic natural sight and create a good educational environment.

Now in this school there are more than 70 classes, with 4000 students and a teaching stuff of over 300. Of the 181 teachers, 80% have senior-grade-teacher titles or middle-grade-teacher titles and a quarter are well known in the nation, the province or the city. To promote international cooperation, this school engaged experts from the US and Australia as teachers and now it has a stuff of excellent teachers with profound professional knowledge and high efficiency.

In recent years, guided by the concept of “We have every student in our hearts and help every student to succeed”, we have carried out reforms and have made considerable achievements. We have sent thousands of excellent students to universities; we have sent over 40 athletes to national or provincial teams; hundreds of students have won national or provincial prizes in Olympic science competitions. Because of all this, this school has won high popularity and has been awarded more than 20 provincial or higher prizes, like “Model School of Jiangsu Province”, “National Advanced Unit in Youth Physical Education” and “Civilized Unit of Jiangsu Province”.
